Theme XML

The theme XML file is a file required for creating a system software theme. Include information regarding various colors (theme color, font color, font shadow color, focus color, dimmer colors) and presence/absence of BGM playback in the home screen in XML format. In addition, it is possible to include a label for identifying a created theme.

Setting Method

Place the created theme XML file directly in the root directory with the filename "theme.xml".

theme.xml Description Example

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<theme>
  <format-version>4.0</format-version>
  <themecolor>0</themecolor>
  <fontcolor>#FFFFFFFF</fontcolor>
  <fontshadowcolor>#80000000</fontshadowcolor>
  <focuscolor>#FF00BAFF</focuscolor>
  <homescreen-dimmer>#6080FF80</homescreen-dimmer>
  <functionscreen-dimmer>#608080FF</functionscreen-dimmer>
  <titlename-dimmer>#60FF8080</titlename-dimmer>
  <homebgm-enable>True</homebgm-enable>
  <label>SIE-Sample-Theme_001</label>
</theme>

Font Color

The color of character strings displayed in system software screens can be customized. The specified color will be used in the following situations.
Home screen, function screen, and function area at the top of the screen when the application resumes

Setting Method

Enter a hexadecimal, 8-digit value starting with "#" then continuing in the order of ARGB (alpha channel, red, green, blue) for the <fontcolor> element in the theme XML file. When omitted, the system default color will be applied. Note that the system software will force the font color to be always opaque regardless of the value set for the alpha channel.

Font Shadow Color

The color of shadows for character strings displayed in system software screens can be customized. The specified color will be used in the following situations.
Home screen, function screen, and function area at the top of the screen when the application resumes

Note
In "Themes" > "Text Drop Shadow" in the "Settings" menu, users can select the color specified in the theme XML file ("Standard") or one of the colors stored in the system software for the font shadow color.

Setting Method

Enter a hexadecimal, 8-digit value starting with "#" then continuing in the order of ARGB (alpha channel, red, green, blue) for the <fontshadowcolor> element in the theme XML file. When omitted, a font shadow will not be rendered when "Standard" is selected in "Themes" > "Text Drop Shadow".

Enter a hexadecimal, 8-digit value starting with "#" then continuing in the order of ARGB (alpha channel, red, green, blue) for the <focuscolor> element in the theme XML file. When omitted, the system default color that corresponds to the theme color will be applied. Note that the system software will force the focus color to be always opaque regardless of the value set for the alpha channel.

Dimmer Colors

The colors of the various dimmers displayed on system software screens can be customized. The colors used in the following situations can be individually specified.
Function area at the top of the home screen and at the top of the screen when the application resumes
Entire function screen
Background of the application title name

Setting Method

Enter hexadecimal, 8-digit values starting with "#" then continuing in the order of ARGB (alpha channel, red, green, blue) for the <homescreen-dimmer>, <functionscreen-dimmer>, and <titlename-dimmer> elements in the theme XML file. When omitted, the respective dimmer will not be rendered.

Label

A character string for identifying the system software theme can be specified as a label. The label will not be displayed on system software screens, but it will be displayed in the console log as debug information. Specifying a label as information for identifying the theme during development is recommended.

Setting Method

Enter a character string that is comprised of alphanumeric characters (A-Z, a-z, and 0-9), hyphens ("-"), and underscores ("_") and is 64 bytes or less (including the NULL terminator) for the <label> element in the theme XML file. When omitted, the default character string will be assigned.
